What the standard board does on its own
Every unit ships with a temperature control board — this is not a blank slot. On its own it runs the unit on adjustable setpoints, shows status on LED indicators, raises high/low temperature alarms, self-tests on power-up, takes a remote temperature sensor, and gives you a dry-contact trouble/temperature alarm output you can wire to anything (IOM CA2219C). The options to the right add network monitoring or hand control to your own thermostat; none of them are required for the unit to work.
Use your own controller
For applications where you want to use your own thermostat, PLC, or even a third-party Lead-Lag controller. The $20 thermostat input hooks into our control board and hands control over to whatever system you already have. Maximum flexibility for non-standard installations.

Step 6 — Adapter / Transition Plate (Optional)
For legacy cutout compatibility
When replacing an older OEM unit with a different mounting pattern, an adapter plate bridges the gap between your existing cabinet cutout and the VoltAire unit — so you’re not fabricating a new opening. Plan on some fitting work during the swap.
